The sky was glowing, but very difficult to capture in paper. Luckily I have another friend in the Sanibel Island area who also took a sunset photo with lots of clouds, so I used her sky and my daughter's everything else!

Summer, to me, represents Light-that is life, and the Sun represents light and life as well. There is a kind of symbiosis between Summer and Sun, and the catalyzer and the link that attaches those two concepts, and the Sun and The Summer is; the light and symbolism implicit in the Summer Solstice. In this piece, you have all the main elements representing Summer and the Sun: Light, outdoor, the ocean, nature, heat, fun, life, and energy; present in the colors utilized in it (orange, green, purple, yellow, light blue). You can also notice movement, energy, and joy represented by the waves noticeable in the piece. These waves also represent the fresh breeze of the ocean and the sea. This artwork invites us to embrace the energy that Summer brings to us; when we observe and contemplate this image, we develop those feelings and moods that Summer pours upon us. Let's receive from this image all the joy, fun, life, nature, light, and the warmness of The Summer in The Sun.

A short statement of the proposed artwork's relationship to the theme of "Summer In the Sun" (150-500 words).: Reflections of summer on the bright chrome surface of the vintage Airstream Camper got me thinking about all of the scenes of past summer fun that have been reflected on this surface over the years. The beautiful landscapes, the historic landmarks, families and friends sharing campfire stories, barbeque hot dogs and hamburgers, a day of fishing on the lake. It's almost like a mural that is constantly changing and never replays the exact same scene again. The reflections are lost but the memories made in the summer sun will last a lifetime.

A short statement of the proposed artwork's relationship to the theme of "Summer In the Sun" (150-500 words).: What is more summer than a trip to the beach, and what would I give to be able to live by the sea, sigh, and since I am not living next to the sea I will bring the sea to me. A remarkable way to achieve the motion, the color color and the waves is to use the Fluid Acrylic technique. It is a little hard to control but when you harness the power of the paints you will be rewarded by capturing the power of a wave. I adore seeing how the water sparkles and this piece sparkles like diamonds, just move yourself a bit and you will see it twinkle.
