I am inspired by the ocean. I dream of being in it, it is a place of peace and rejuvenation for me. In this piece, I used a stretched canvas, I poured fluid iridescent acrylics with a dusting of fine glitter to create this beautiful surf. To finish it, I resined the piece and then added a misty wave which is elevated by the resin creating a dimensional scene. I framed this beach scene with barn wood, I love the contrast of the textured frames with the glossiness of the painting.

A short statement of the proposed artwork's relationship to the theme of "Summer In the Sun" (150-500 words).
What is more summer than a trip to the beach, and what would I give to be able to live by the sea, sigh, and since I am not living next to the sea I will bring the sea to me. A remarkable way to achieve the motion, the color color and the waves is to use the Fluid Acrylic technique. It is a little hard to control but when you harness the power of the paints you will be rewarded by capturing the power of a wave. I adore seeing how the water sparkles and this piece sparkles like diamonds, just move yourself a bit and you will see it twinkle.
