Mid Summer Barred Owl

On a warm, humid, summer day in Central Florida, I came across this young barred owl in an oak tree. What first looked to me like a scene that was messy and did not have much value, quickly turned into something that was completely the opposite with a little bit of moving around. I found a beautiful little hole in the leaves behind the owl that let the bright light of the sky enter the dark canopy, and it illuminated the owl in a bright glow. This magical little effect created made for a very dynamic image that to to me, shows the true essence of a Barred Owl.
