I started doing cut paper when I did silhouettes at WDW back in the mid 1990s for about 6 years. I also used to make small 5x7 one and two color scenes to sell, but I stopped cutting when I left Disney to get into computer graphics.
Fast forward 20 years. While moving, I donated some pieces to the Papercutters Museum in PA, who encouraged me to continue cutting. Not wanting to continue doing simple black and white small cuttings, I decided to challenge myself and use my computer graphics to design much larger multi layered cuttings cut with an Xacto knife. My subject matter varies, but generally I've tried to focus on Florida wildlife and have drifted from duotone style colors to full color cuttings, sometimes over 30 layers.
